I just picked up another financial book.

Doctor's Eyes Only: Exclusive Financial Strategies for Today's Doctors and Dentists. I'll report back after I've read it.

I read that when I got diagnosed with ADD in my early twenties. It helped me a ton!

I'm currently reading 50 Shades Freed, the third book in the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. This trilogy is actually the first in the genre I've read and although the writing isn't great, I am hooked!

I picked up Nurture Shock yesterday at the library and already it is a fascinating read. I think I might have to read it twice to really get all of the information in it.

ETA: I finished Water for Elephants yesterday and loved it. It took a long time to really get the story going for me, nearly half way through the book, but I am glad that I finished it, because the ending surprised me.

Ok so I obviously need to pick up Nuture Shock - is it one of those kind of books you can read on your kindle or should I have a hard copy so I can reference it?

I'm only a couple of chapters in, but I would think kindle is fine. While lots of research is quoted, so far I haven't encountered any graphics that I am referencing while reading, so no flipping back and forth.

I'm half tempted to actually buy the book, which I don't do often, because it seems to have broad appeal across age groups, from toddlers through teens. So far there are no prescriptives, just a bunch of research boiled down into understandable terms.

I just got it on Kindle. It really focuses a lot on "people believe ______, but these studies actually show ______". Some sections don't even have a definite conclusion about what you should do, just why what popular opinion says doesn't work.

Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami. I've read several other books of his previously and have always enjoyed them immensely. I wouldn't be surprised to see Murakami become a Nobel Prize recipient about a decade from now.

And I cannot believe I am now taking a break from Game of Thrones to read Fifty Shades of Grey for a Book Club I am in. There is also going to be a party where things can be bought after the discussion.

Houseelf, if you're looking for interesting nonfiction you might check out Mary Roach. FH reads only nonfiction and he has a huge geek-crush on her. Her books are Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife, Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex, and Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void. They're basically all science-based, but written for a general audience with LOTS of humor.

I'm reading one of the Henning Mankell Wallander series. Classic Scandinavian crime fiction.

I read Stiff and ended up bored 2/3 of the way through. The part that I read was pretty interesting, vaguely creepy, but interesting.
