The book is pretty darn disturbing, especially after you have had kids. Didn't remember it being that creepy when I read it in college.

I have to agree with "Stepford Wives".....it was really bad. I would also have to add "Brother Bear", a very lame Disney flick.

It is so rare for me to see movies these days that the ones I see have been thoroughly checked out ahead of time....maybe that is a perk of not getting out much?

A lot of remakes of already-done movies have been pretty disappointing. We saw War of the Worlds and the entire audience was laughing at the most inopportune moments. It was really, really bad. I also started watching a Heather Graham/Luke Wilson flic on TV whilst snowed in this weekend and it was so bad, I don't even want to go on google and look up the title.

ITA with every movie mentioned so far. Also just returned Dogville to Netflix. There was so much hype about the movie but I could only sit through about first 20 minutes and most of it was fast forwarded. It's just too creepy and disturbing.

Well, I am going to sheepishly admit to liking What Women Want. The Stepford Wives did suck.

But, why am I the only person who cannot stand artsy movies? Am I uncultured? The English Patient is hands down the worst waste of time I have ever sat through. That and Ace Ventura Two (polar opposite movies, but I digress).

When movie critics go on about the artistic qualities in a movie, I know that's a movie to steer clear of. I tend not to like many of the Oscar nominated movies AT ALL.

What was the Bill Murray Scarlett Johannsen one? That totally sucked. The Aviator was beyond creepy. I just don't need that in a movie. It seems that a movie has to be painfully slow (or completely creepy) and dull to be considered good. Bleck.

I will also add Must Love Dogs...In light of the Ode to John Cusak (who I also love) on the Grand Rounds board. It was such a sad, sad failure of anything that might resemble a romantic comedy. Worse than Youv'e Got Mail.

I've heard it described as "Lloyd Dobler grows up."

If Lloyd Dobler grown up is ill conceived and horribly written
