That is awesome. I've always heard great things about their live shows. I'd also love to see the Dropkick Murphys.

DH and our kids hate these bands. Well, except for DS because some of FM's songs sound "piratey" to him and he hearts all things pirate and pirate-adjacent.

I'd love to see them! They seem like they'd put on a great show.

Actually, I forgot to mention Gaelic Storm, they are an Irish band that tours in the US. Their music is a lot of fun and the concerts are really small with lots of drinking and audience participation. I ALWAYS have a blast when I see them. They typically play here in summer and it is hot and sweaty, standing room only with dancing. So.Much.Fun!

Hoosier Rap Daddy '99!!! The concert got moved last minute so only about 1/4 of the expected number of people were there! We ended up in the front for for The Roots, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Snoop Dogg, EMINEM! hHEYEEYYYY! It was wonderful.

Harry Connick Jr. was memorable. Love the fact that he can play so many instruments. Sting was good too. Most recent, I have to say FUN at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. That venue was awesome and the band was ahhhhmazzzing.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Sting and the Royal London Philharmonic. One of the most amazing music performances I've witnessed in this life. It was their last night of that American tour and they blew us away.

He was so personable, and open about his creative musical process. He creates his melody/music first and then walks/prays until the song tells him what's it about and then the words spill out. It's the complete opposite of what I assumed. I always assumed the artist would have something in mind to say first and then create the music to "dress" the message in. Apparently not.

                  Oh man...

Non-depressing? Stagecoach Festival, where I saw John Fogerty (squee!) and the Eagles.
Kinda depressing, but awesome? Damien Rice, at the Greek Theater in L.A. or maybe [the many] Watkins Family Hour at the Largo in L.A.

That is fascinating. I would have assumed the same.

Mine: the Boss, sophomore summer of college. It was so hot and I drove down with 5 girlfriends and we danced until I've never been so sweaty.

I've never been to a rock'n roll concert, but I've always dreamed of seeing Aerosmith or Eric Clapton live...

My favorite concert that I attended was a truly moving (as in, tear-bringingin) performance of Handel's complete Messiah. Whenever the entire audience stood for the Hallelujuah (sp?) chorus, I was almost weeping. You could just feel what it was like the first time it was performed and that was the kin's reaction.

After 6 DMB concerts and tix to the next one, they are my favorite live show. However, I went to Lollapalooza in 1992 (?). Beastie Boys, Green Day, L7 (Courtney Love), Adam Ant. It was a pretty fun moment in time. I also got to see the Grateful Dead on their last tour before Jerry Garcia passed away and I'm pleased to have had that experience. I would also see Jimmy Buffet again any time.

This thread has me reminiscing! I feel so old now, haha! I'm realizing that the big "epic" shows I thought would be more memorable like DMB and Bob Dylan actually bored me to tears. Some of the most fun memories were the concerts that weren't the best music, like Run DMC in high school or P-Funk in college. I also remember going to a couple Ani DiFranco concerts in high school that were awesome. I hope I never outgrow concert - going... Some of the most recent ones were definitely the best music. I'm excited to see Of Monsters And Men in a couple months.

Tribe called quest was awesome! Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins were also very good.

I haven't been to a concert in such a long long time. I think most of my concert going was in the 90s.
