For You I Will by Teddy Geiger is a nice new-ish one. He's the guy that played the "new hot star" on Love Monkey.

She's No Lady (She's My Wife) by Lyle Lovett is also great.

I second the vote for Gypsy Kings....I don't know what they are saying, but it's got to be good!

          Lullaby - Dixie Chicks

pretty sure this is supposed to be for your kids, but it's got great lyrics "How long do you want to be loved? Is forever enough? Is forever enough?"

I also love "She's Always a Woman" from Billy Joel, but don't know if it qualifies as romantic.

Thanks everyone. This is not for my kids . This is for a CD to listen to in the hotel or car on our trip.

Because I am just that kind of loser.

                Great suggestions. Keep them coming!

All I could think of was Norah Jones.

Heidi--I think Jenn meant that the song "Lullaby" by the Dixie Chicks was meant to be sung to the kids (as a love song).

Your mixed tape is not lame at all! I gave a mixed lullaby/quiet songs CD to a friend for a baby gift when we were really, really poor. I thought it was the lamest gift. She loved it! Music touches the heart - and picking out the songs and mixing it yourself takes thought and effort. It's a sweet idea. See how we've all jumped on the bandwagon here?

Great ideas so far. Some I changed the artist to one I am more familiar with or like the version better. Others weren't for me, but some were perfect. I have 37 so far. Keep em coming...

Our wedding song was "Speak softly love." I like the Bobby Vinton version better, but the Al Martino one is easier to come by.
I walked down the aisle to "Beauty and the Beast." It was not a comment on Russ....it's my favorite Disney movie.

"To know you is to love you" Bobby Vinton also did a version, but I think a girl group was the more popular one.

                      "Crazy for you" Madonna
                      "Love is Alive" Judds
                      "Unchained Melody"
"That's how you know it's love" Deana Carter
"It might be you" Stephen Bishop (theme from Tootsie)
"Do little things" Changing Faces (from the Dr. DoLittle Soundtrack)
"How do you talk to an angel" Jamie Walters

one from my girl Britney: "When your eyes say it" (From Oops!)

Madonna's album "Bedtime stories" is sexy. Might be better played during dessert...

Not sure what kinds you were looking for...I tried to stray a little from the traditional.

My all time favorite romantic song is Baby Got Back :!

Angie was right ... the song does not sound kid-ish at all. It never says "lullaby" ... great lyrics, good song. I find it romantic.

The girl group reference reminded me of "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles. Love that song. (I also like Love Song by the Cure, but it isn't a smooth ballad. Also Friday, I'm in Love -Cure.....I'm a Cure kind of girl. )
