I'm not up on the new shows. They have 2 nannies and Kate stays at home?? Not judging just wondering. Do both nannies come in at the same time everyday??

I was under the impression that they only hired the one-- she didn't feel the vibe from the other girl. She has a nanny come so that she can prepare and serve dinner. I remember her saying that was the hardest part of the day for her.

The daughter of one of their friends also signed up through the nanny service to come help out.

My understanding is that nannies are not full time and come for a few hours a day so that Kate can clean (since she never found a cleaning woman up to her standards), cook and do some errands.

I watched an episode of this today and
I wouldn't be able to do it without losing my mind. Kudos to them. I'm sure they didn't think they'd be driving a Dodge Sprinter passenger van.

I've gotten hooked on this show in the last week or so. It's like a train wreck. I would go completely nuts.

We almost stopped watching it all together because DH starts to get this really scared look on his face with all those kids!

I was watching the pumpkin carving one-- and I was amused at how spazzed Kate got when Aiden ran away in the corn maze. With a camera following right behind.

I guess you really do forget the cameras are there!

And of course, her disapproval of the maid service...
Maybe playing with her kids all morning wasn't as rewarding as tracking down every dust bunny would've been to her.

And then at the pumpkin patch- they were "shocked" at how crowded it was. We've been to pumpkin patches just like that, and it was so not crowded. We've had the little kids waiting in line for 45 minutes before just to get on the hayride to the pumpkin patch. I think they are used to having an entire venue to themselves and their camera crew.

Okay, I so want to have 8 kids. I watch religiously every week and was rewatching the few they showed yesterday. Kate is the only Mom I know of that can look better after she has had children. If that's what having 8 kids does for you then sign me up

I know. She had a tummy tuck- but other than that? Does she exercise? Or is it all of her hyper cleaning? She looks way better than he does.

Have any of you seen the pics of her before having the kids. She was (and still is) an extremely pretty girl. The hubby just looks like the crap has been beaten out of him on a daily basis.

I love this show! Although she comes off high strung, we probably all would look a little more high strung if we watch ourselves run after our kids, and clean up a room AGAIN after just doing it. Though I have to say... her kids seem very non high strung except for Maddie. I swear my kids seem crazy and violently loud after seeing her eight. My kids, well you need ear plugs around them - and there are only two of them!

I hear you. I adore my kids. I'd throw myself in front of a bus for them. For the most part, they are good kids. However, neither is particularly calm. This observation is always corroborated by teachers. I had a playdate for DD with another three year old girl who played quietly with dolls and books. Not my kids. They like to launch things off the balcony. I've been thinking about my highspirited children lately and wondering if it is nature or nuture, and as a corollary to this, what I have done to contribute to their effusive personalities.

And on the topic at hand, I love Jon and Kate plue Eight. I hate to admit it but Kate is calmer than I would be.
