That is common for our neighborhood. I think it depends on the area and COL.

Unless it's HHI, I turn off the TV when people like that come on.
I find that I get crabby.
(Kind of like when Americans on HHI are looking to buy in Europe, and then complain about how everything is small. Dude, it's an apartment in Venice that's 150 years old: it's going to be small!)

Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Westlake, or Southlake?

That's not a normal budget for Dallas.

What gets me is that that's not a normal budget for a first-time homeowner.

Normal for where we are for first-time buyers. I would love to have that kind of money saved up for a downpayment!

Yeah, that too! I wonder if they will get an FHA loan

I love HH and HHI, but often find myself
feeling very grateful for the home/lot we are able to have here in flyoverland! I can't believe what it costs to live in some of the places featured on the show!

We're saving up for a half million dollar fixer upper for my dad to help us with (he's an architect). I know... It really is a regional thing.

We looked at a few half a million dollar fixer uppers because we wanted proximity to the hospital and there is nothing near that is new.
