Congrats to OK State--they did a good job.
I'm a Sooner ALL THE WAY, but tonight was hard. At least the first game is the best one to lose, but ugh this sucks! I was really hoping for a great season our senior year!
I have to say though, BYU fans are classy--other fans and coaches would have been mean.
Most of all, I feel sorry for Sam Bradford. He's my age, and though I don't know him, I see him around the business school occasionally. One of my professors had him in a class and said he was a great student, and very respectful. He's got a crazy high GPA, especially for a finance major.
I really hope he gets better and is able to play in the NFL--it shows a lot of character for a player who has a sure shot at millions to come back and finish school. I'd really hate to see him lose it.Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

PS--LadyMoreta, it was awesome to meet you yesterday!
If you and your very busy hubby ever want to try and go to an OU game, I can try and get you (relatively) inexpensive student tickets.Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

Congratulations to OSU - as long as we're not playing them, I'm glad to see them win. BYU played a great game, too. I really hope Sam Bradford can come back soon. DH thinks if it's not too serious, he should be back in a couple of weeks. Anyone whose SO actually specializes in that know how likely that is?Laurie
My team: DH (anesthesiologist), DS (9), DD (8)

Wow, this thread is very heavy midwestern. I love it!
SuzySunshine: That is AWESOME. When I have a child they will be decked out in KU gear for games too. Much to my SO's dismay!-L.Jane

College football season is here, yea!!!!
We play tomorrow in a nationally televised game versus Cincinnati. First game with new stadium expansion (ugh, long/painful story there), so there will be a huge crowd. Looking forward to it, I was making tailgating plans yesterday with my friends while at the wine festival!!
I also felt sorry for Sooner fans, hopefully Bradford will recover well and you will have him back in time for the heart of the Big 12 schedule.
Cheri, I am totally looking forward to decking my kid out in Rutgers' scarlet. A is so cute!!Event coordinator, wife and therapist to a peds attending

oh no Seaside. There may be a border war here. All in good fun. I get the helping cheer for your SO's team. J understands When AZ isn't playing, he cheers for KU (I even got him a KU scrub cap he wears.. I should probably be nice and get him and AZ one too) and I do the same for him. But if they play each other... Its on!-L.Jane

But on the bright side, the tailgating was good (kabobs, yummy) and it was great to see a lot of my friends that I hadn't seen since last season ended. I'm so tired from all the festivities and the driving that I'm trying to get the energy to go to class in 2 hours.Event coordinator, wife and therapist to a peds attending
