I heard (or maybe read?) something that said the governor of Texas is meeting with all four schools to convince them all to remain within the same conference and keep their rivalries alive.
I also think the Pac-11 should take Utah - it makes sense. Any team in Texas does not.Event coordinator, wife and therapist to a peds attending

Yeah, I think I just like geographic sensibility. It bugs me to no end that Louisiana Tech plays with Nevada in the WAC. Colorado and Utah feel like western states. Texas and Oklahoma don't, I guess.
I think I'm overthinking this.

I was having a discussion on someone's Facebook wall about all of the rumors and changes in college football and they are saying that Notre Dame wants to join the Big 10?? I really don't see them joining a conference for football - they like being an independent, their NBC contract and being able to schedule whoever they want. ND is in the Big East for all other collegiate sports. Someone else also said that the Big 10 payout is about $20M and the NBC contract is $9M. As much as ND is all about football, they need to protect the viability of their other non-revenue sports as well. So if they are a player in all of these conference shakeups, I doubt they would be involved until the very end.Event coordinator, wife and therapist to a peds attending

Nebraska will join the Big 10 in July 2011, the Big 10 voted yesterday: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=5276551.
There are still rumors about Texas and other schools from the Big 12 South heading to the Pac-11, we will have to wait and see.Event coordinator, wife and therapist to a peds attending

I could totally see Notre Dame joining the Big 10 (11) given the geography and the strength of their football program. But Nebraska? I just don't see it... How does it benefit the the Big 10? (I will readily admit that I don't follow the politics of it all, just the Badgers football season)Kris
