Watching right now! I'm playing hookey to hang w/ hubby and the city of San Antonio is at a stand-still. (Mexico vs. South Africa)

There are two watering holes in the 'hood that are opening at 9am to show live matches.

It's going to be a fun month.

I have a hard time paying close enough attention to soccer games, but I definitely enjoy a little international rivalry. My sister, though, is a woman obsessed. She got herself a summer job at an English pub so she'll be able to watch the games while she works!

I LOVE the World Cup! Bummed that I can't watch tomorrow's game live though. I can't take DS to a bar and as usual in Pacific Time we are not worthy of live games on TV

Alison, I'm sure you guys won't be the least bit surprised to know that one of the spots that's open at all hours for the World Cup is www.beethovenmaennerchor.com.

That's surprising. We're getting live TV coverage in Mountain Time.

I checked a few days ago and this morning and the ABC website said it was on with a 3 hr delay, but according to tvguide.com (more accurate I am sure because it lists our cable provider) it IS on live. So yay!

So, was that fun or what? On to Germany vs. Australia tomorrow. The ENTIRE neighborhood turned out at the Beethoven for the game. They had an 18 foot screen in their back room, not to mention brats, pretzels, 8 beers on tap and a whole lot of insanity. I particularly enjoyed the guy dressed up as Uncle Sam and my neighbor running around with the Texas flag as a cape.

Just watched Invictus to get a feel for South Africa and sports, and to give my husband an idea about how big a deal it is that they're hosting World Cup Soccer.

G'night all- must get my beauty sleep.

That's what my son says, too. Still, I'm holding out hopes for Spain to win it for the first time. Oh...and I guess I should be hoping that USA will go all the way. That would be a shocker, right??

                              Alison-

My crazy neighbor wore his leiderhosen all over the neighborhood on Sunday. (Same guy who wore the Texas flag as his cape all day Saturday) It was close to 100 degrees and he's wearing leather shorts. Wack-o.
