I just don't understand why if she's on a rigid diet she wouldn't just graciously explain that she needs to eat certain foods, etc. Sounds like she made a big deal about it and lectured about diabetes? From mil's POV of course.

Idk. Its just bizarro that MIL would actually write all these grievances down.. In an email!! Tacky. Way to start a new marriage!!!

Funny thing - my SIL asked me to tell her when she was being rude, b/c she was apparently raised by wolves ... or such a self-involved woman that she wasn't taught to be polite. I had to explain that for me to TELL her she's being rude would be ... rude.

I must admit, however, I told my MIL that she was inconsiderate and insulting during that 3 hour confrontation that she initiated while on the phone with me.

That has nothing to do with manners. That has to do with asserting yourself and not allowing yourself to be treated like an imbecile. My SIL was asking me to point out her rude behavior w/regard to interactions with OTHERS. If she is rude with me you can be sure I don't tolerate it (and amazingly enough, she's not).
