  • today, DD3 said to me in the car on the way to daycare, "Momma, my blood pressure is going down." I have no idea where she would have ever heard that!

Today, I am able to open up my house because the temps are so seasonable! Yea for partly cloudy days.

      • Today, we went to the zoo. K1 wet his pants and just after I changed him into clean clothes, he fell in a mud puddle, skinned his knees, and got muddy from his toes to his nose. Then he fell off a picnic bench, hit his face on the table, and got a black eye. Guess I wouldn't be raising him right if he didn't get roughed up now and then, right?

          • I think he will! Right now, he's freshly bathed and watching Curious George. I think it's the first time he's stopped moving since he woke up this morning. I doubt the spell will last. If he'd just stop squirming and running around so much, he wouldn't be slipping in mud puddles (while stomping in them) or falling off picnic benches. Of course, then he wouldn't be a 2yo boy either.

            • Today I feel like a new woman because DD slept multiple 2 hour stretches solo last night!!!! (yes, that is an actual rave. The last two weeks have been filled with 45-minute on-off sleep cycles).

Today my husband let me take a 2.5 hour nap even though he has to work an overnight tonight. *Swoon*

                  • Today, K1's got even more bumps. We were visiting friends and DrK was pushing their daughter on a swing. K1 got too close and DrK shoved him out of the way/knocked him over to avoid a collision. K1 was (is) distraught because "Daddy hurt him" and he cannot grasp that it happened because Daddy was trying to protect him. It's so sad. Poor kid had such a rough day.

                    • Aww, poor K1 and DrK! DH tackled DS at a birthday party a few months ago when he ran out in front of a swing - a full tackle-to-the-ground! The other dads were impressed, but DS wasn't pleased...

                      • Parent-kiddo swing tackles are awesome. The only one who's angry is the tackled, but I've seen some kids get clocked pretty hard by swings, and that hurts even more.
