But, "me too" "good luck", "hug", here's a link to a random news story with no other info, "if you were a bird what would you be?" -type posts would be what I would call "not quality". Not that those aren't helpful, but 200 of those posts wouldn't get anybody anywhere.

I really want to say "penguin" because I love them. But all that cold....and the flightless thing sort of defeats the purpose of this hypothetical "which bird" question. I would be the person who finally gets the chance to be a bird and fly and then chooses to remain grounded as a penguin. And I'd be giving up knees...

My friend went on a first date who decided to gush about it for most of the date. So I started pondering whether it was an accidental or targeted audience. My dd went through a MLP stage, so I've seen several of them, they aren't terrible.

Today I am supposed to be writing a paper on the role of inflammation in atherosclerosis. This is one of my key areas of interest and I still can't summon the fortitude to start writing so I'm dicking around on the internet. Someone kick me, please.

I was just telling someone today about how last summer my then 2.5yo spent two weeks reading books and watching movies about penguins because he couldn't decide whether he liked them or not. We concluded that there are two types of people in the world: (1) those who love penguins, and (2) sociopaths.

Today, I'm going to attempt to take the boys to parents as teachers class and to the library again. . . provided that they don't set the house on fire or kill each other. Lately, seems like every Wednesday, just as we are walking out the door, they do something incredibly destructive and we end up cleaning a huge mess or driving to the ER instead of going to class.

No dice. The boys have been up and down all day. We got to class where they did well until the last 5 minutes when K1 had a very sudden tantrum and began to attack one of the other moms for singing the ABCs. He actually pounced on her and started yelling while swinging his fists. His change of mood was so sudden that it shocked everyone and I was entirely mortified. He has never just attacked a stranger before. (She's a nice lady and I've met her at other classes. But she has only one child and he's younger than mine so she probably is wondering WTH is up with my kids.) I ended up carrying both boys - about 70lbs combined -, the diaper bag, and all our coats down a very long elementary school corridor along which every classroom was full of 4th graders undergoing standardized tests while one child cried and the other bit, kicked, and wet himself.

After changing pants, giving them a snack, and settling them into the car, I proceeded to the library because I needed to return an overdue dvd. The boys had composed themselves and begged to go inside and pick up books. They did okay though they were scattering. Then K2 had a big, noisy, throw-himself-on-the-floor tantrum when it was time to leave. We've had lunch and now I'm trying to get them to nap but they are acting like Jeckell & Hyde each alternating between happy giggles and angry tears. I really think a nap will be good for everyone.

Are they difficult?? I ask because...I, too, dislike sharing my husband with my in laws. On Christmas eve at my parents house a couple of years ago my FIL proudly announced that DH actually is "god's gift to the world"...without a hint of irony. He was serious.
