Every time we hang out with a group of people we don't know every well there's always this awkward expectation that we're going to foot the bill. 3.5 years away from the end of training but...he's a doctor, right? It happened again last night. I get it, it was a strange social situation. One guy bought a bottle of wine we shared 4 ways, a few others had beer, then we went somewhere else and I said we should pay for his stuff since he bought the wine. So DH ended up with the entire bill. Several food items and alcohol. One friend finally got the hint and gave me some cash but the other...even if you just have one glass of wine you don't even OFFER to throw us a few dollars?? WTF! Inevitably this shit happens whenever we're with people we don't know very well.
Grown adults really do this?! I am horrified and dying of second hand embarrassment. Do you ever end up hanging out with those types of people again?

Dinner with DH and one of his buddies from high school. I'd only met this dude one other time. From first interaction not quite sure what I think. (What 30+ year old still boasts of dating multiple women at once?) We were talking about the future and I told him after living away from family for these years my husband will be thrilled to hear I might be OK with moving back to the south after training. Dude looked very thoughtful and said "That's a normal thing for a woman to say."

        WTF!!

Hello most sexist comment of 2015. And BTW DH is the one pining to get back to the east coast, not me.

... For the record, they were taking about me, and yes, they're real. Lol goes to show, sometimes doctors are the dumb ones.

WTH? Also goes to show that brilliant minds and skilled hands do not equate good social aptitude.
However, I may squeeze out a compliment...can totally see plastic surgeon thinking - damn - whoever did those is freaking awesome - symmetry and volume (or whatever they deem as ideal) is perfect.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Hahahaha omg I was honestly so embarrassed. But surgeons have zero filter (particularly at open bar events) as I've come to accept.
