  • Making gifts?

Normally it's last minute flowers and chocolates but this year I'm making a Valentine's gift for my wife. I'm trying to make a rose from copper and brass. New territory for me making something for looks rather than practicality.

Here's the first set of petals ready to be annealed.

    Wish me luck!

Very cool. No pressure - honestly, the fact that you are doing it at all is the amazing part! My husband's best ever gift to me was an arbor he made for our garden. I always think of him whenever I look out in the yard.

                    That's amazing!

I'm in the middle of making a bunch of boxy zippered pouches out of christmas doctor who fabric for my fellow geek knitters (they're great for small knitting projects). I was hoping to have them done for Christmas, but now it'll be for next year. They're kinda like this: http://www.trulymyrtle.com/2012/03/b...-tutorial.html, but with fabric like this: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...an-d4j1p5i.png and this: http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...an-d4j1p0d.png

I have crochet ADD. Well, craft ADD. I'm working on a baby blanket for a friend, and a few more blankets. Okay. At least 4. I have a problem.

I'm working on scarves for my favorite people. Simple knitting keeps my mind going.

SO cool you are making a copper rose! My dad is a blacksmith so I know how much effort goes into those! KUDOS! She will LOVE it.

                              Question is....one or a bunch?
