Lol! Last night we were at a dinner where the speaker was a gyn onc guy showing pictures of cancerous ovaries and abdominal cavities. Didn't bother me in the least, but damn do I avoid looking at DH's Ophtho photos. That shit is straight out of a horror flick! Something about the eyes being fucked up just gets me every time, especially open globes.

Eh, I'm not saying I'm over it, but things are markedly better now.

Omg always with the photos! Lol I know not to even open the photo album on my hubs phone... He sure still tries to show me sometimes though... I'm like nope, no, still no, learned my lesson intern year.

Yeah I think it's definitely a day to day thing for me. Hoping to use this letter as encouragement on the tough days and in the years to come.

Ditto. Though I did sit nicely through the video of DH's first cataract surgery. Major feat.

😭😭 where was this letter 2 years ago? I'm grateful to have found this forum and everyone on here because only you get it. I'm so guilty at looking at FB and seeing everyone enjoying holidays and three day weekends. And while I do talk to some friends about medical school it's always the same "look" I get from everyone.

I printed this and put it on our fridge! I find it very encouraging. Glad you all appreciated it, too!
