OMG, just to show you all how things are CRAZY for us...he just got a call from AUC and will probably be able to attend in the fall semester. WOW, sept. is not far away at all! I have read that AUC is on a MUCH more established island...however I still have ALL the same worries! I am excited for him....I just hope he doesn't sense my black cloud.

Your right, st. maarten is a much more established island. Someone correct me, but I also think it's easier to fly back home from st. maarten compared to other islands. the airport there is one of the Caribbean hubs. What state will your older children live in?

Thank you everyone for your help. My kids live in Arkansas. I just really wish the other parent would sign away his rights. He has already told me he wants nothing to do with them.

Why not put the pressure on by taking him to court for back pay. Then you could offer the option of signing off. Probably not the best advice but it is my first reaction.

Right now between the cost of school, we don't have any extra money to pay my attorney up front.

Maybe (just maybe) there is a way to file yourself without involving an attorney. Shouldn't the state be able to go after him on your sons' behalf.
