Welcome Tivona80! You should start a new thread to introduce yourself (you can probably just copy and paste this). Some people may not notice your post if they've already read Lacy's thread.

But we're very glad to have you! There are quite a few people on here who are in similar situations - we have all kinds of relationships from all different levels of training. I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

      Hi tivona80

Hey, that's not too bad of a call schedule!

We try to have a date night about once a week - and not talk about work. When our children were younger, we had a standing agreement with a babysitter for every Wednesday night. That was wonderful! I highly recommend that for everyone.

Responding to other posts in this thread - "back in the day" (I'm talking pre-internet, pre-cell phone times - I know! how did we survive??)
most the spouses during med school were either employed or also full-time students. Even if they had children. And took out loans for tuition and living expenses. It really helped me to have my own career and interests - I also took some classes at the university, even though I already had my BA. If I had sat around wishing he had more time for me, I would have gone crazy. Other married couples in the same situation were friends - actually I have very fond memories of those times. We had no idea we were so poor! But then we had not been out in the working world yet, so were not used to a salary.
