      Welcome to the group!

It's shocking at how common this form of cranio is! It now affects 1 in 2,000 live births and is more common in boys! Just crazy! I love hearing about other kids, especially older ones that have made it through all of this and yes it has been super stressful and has made me so emotional! There are times when I hear a certain song or look back at pictures of him in the hospital where I cannot stop crying!

When ya have a baby you count fingers and toes and make sure they're pink and crying, never in a million years did we ever think this would happen to us. When ds was born he had a tiny skin tag on his cheek and of course I was panicked about it, haha. I can laugh at this now It fell off a day later! I'm a firm believer than everything happens for a reason, and it's been so hard for me to wrap my brain around this, but I know he is a gift from God and that I'm definitely not the same person I was before having him.

Enough of that! But thanks listening! I promise I'll stop obsessing over this!

It doesn't matter how old your child is, when something life threatening comes along it stops you cold. In Sept '08, my then 5 year old had a stroke. Put him to bed one night with a fever, woke up the next morning a different person. To this day, I still get teary-eyed and choked up when I think about it all. We also had months of regular appointments with a ped neuro, regular MRI's (so many that the radiology reception staff at children's recognized his name and face) all while I was pregnant with number 2 and working full time and E was in his 4th year of med school. It was TOUGH!
