  • Hello Everyone!

Hello everyone! I am a girlfriend of a 1st year FM resident who lives across the country. I knew that him being a 1st year resident and living in a different state from him would be hard, but I didn't anticipate how difficult it was going to be. I am so glad I found this website. I thought I was going crazy until I found out I wasn't the only one, lol. It's a wonderful feeling to know that there is a place of people who understand what I am going through, because my friends don't understand.

I am about to start nursing school here in Texas.

Greetings! We have tons of resident SOs and spouses, several FM couples, several RNs/NPs, many people who are living or have lived long-distance during training, and lots of people in/from/desperately wishing to get back to Texas. Im sure you'll meet lots of folks with whom you hace things in common! Welcome!

Welcome! The long distance thing is so hard. Are you getting to visit any?

Welcome! I did a kind of long-distance thing for about the first month and a half of residency. I hated it, so I moved!

I hope you at least get to see him occassionally. :hugs:
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Welcome! I can also empathize on the long distance. We did it for 3 years, though not quite as far as yours. So glad you found us!

Long distance veteran here as well for 1 year and then commuted to work in another city for 2 weeks of every month for another 3 years. It's doable but definitely painful!
