  • Introduction - MS4/Urology Applicant Wife

Hi everybody! My husband and I are both in our late 20s and finally almost at the end of our school journey. He's an MS4 and has applied for a urology residency. We've survived the last few months as he interviewed with 14 programs, and with our rank list mostly finalized, we're just waiting for the match next month. We met in college and have had what seems like quite a journey over the last several years. I finished my PhD 2 years ago and am working as an assistant professor in a medical-related field. My husband got a Masters after college and then worked for a little while before getting accepted to med school, and through that we spent a couple of years long distance off and on. We've been married for 5 years, together for almost 10 years. Our family for now is just us and the 2 cats, although we've been struggling with infertility over the last year and recently miscarried. We know that the next 5-6 years will be tough, but I'm excited that we'll finally both be out of school. My dad is a surgeon, so I have a decent idea about what we're getting into. When I'm not working and spending time with my husband, I mostly enjoy knitting, occasionally baking and gardening too. Looking forward to getting to know you all better!

Welcome! I'm one half of a subfertile couple--I'm so sorry you've been dealing with that as well. Hope you stick around.

Welcome aboard! Glad you found us. I can relate with your troubles conceiving unfortunately; fertility isn't exactly our strong suit either . We've also been married 5 years, together 11.
