Hi everyone. I decided to reply to a post today and I decided that it'd be only proper to have an introduction post.
Been together with my DH since undergrad for 9 years now . We've been married for almost 6 years. We're originally from Los Angeles. We moved to the a small city in the Midwest because of his med. school. He had to take a year off due to his health, had to go through the stress of not matching, and learned that his dream of being of a surgeon (despite previously telling him my objective concerns as to why it is not a good fit for him and his values) is not all glitz and glamour as he thought it would be during his prelim. year. We've been through a lot as I continued to work as a sole income provider as I persisted to work in a toxic workplace before his prelim year.
Luckily and thankfully, he matched in Radiology and we are now living in the Detroit metro where we are much more happier than our previous city. I am starting my second year of graduate school, we are closing our house next week, we have a puppy, and we feel like we are in a much better place in our life physically and emotionally.
Sorry if this intro post sounds like its a whole lot of baggage being dumped out, but I know if anyone can understand what medical spouses go through, it is this forum. Anyway, I've been learning a lot through this forum and look forward to getting to know everyone better.
