My husband and I were friends for years before dating. We moved across the country for medical school. We had talked about getting married, but weren't engaged yet. My family was really against the move since we weren't engaged. I was okay with it. I remember cleaning the apartment and finding a piece of paper that was a getting to know you thing, and DH's fun fact was that he was engaged. Seems he was telling all his classmates we were getting married and I was the last to know.
It sounds like you are both on the same page when it comes to your relationship. Everything will work out as it should.

Hi Sarah,
Hershey is one of my favorite places so far. My DH is NSG PGY1 in Texas now, but he is MD/PhD, and did part of his research in Hershey and we loved it there! There is a group called Partners in Medicine for the residents SOs in Hershey. I would recommend that you try to get in touch with them. Do you guys live near the hospital? I met a ton of med wives just going for walks. Hershey is a dream place for a runner. I still miss all the great running and walking trails. Do they still have the cow barn? On summer weekends, the park has late night fireworks, try to have picnic date to watch them oh how I miss Hershey.
