  • Hello

    Hi there…

    I’ve been reading this board for the past few days and thought it would only be polite to thank all of you for the insight. My boyfriend (Neurosurgery PGY-3) and I have been together for 2.5 years (no marriage plans at all, so I’m not sure I have a right to be here)…But anyway, a few weeks ago I started to get really nervous about how long this was going to take… For now our relationship is amazing, but I couldn’t see how a family (or a real adult life as I like to call it) would fit it. Reading your stories has been very reassuring… thank you again… and Happy Halloween

        If you sleep with a dawkter or a dawkter in training, you count. (and if he's a dawkter in training...I mean SLEEP)

          My DH is also neurosurgery PGY-3, we have been together for almost 10 years and married for just over four. I know exactly what you mean about a "real" life fitting into this crazy world we call neurosurgery.

          Welcome to the boards.

                  I'm happy to help - maybe in the future we can meet up at conferences!

                              I just wanted to say thanks again to all of you…

                              It was one of those days where is really sucks that my bf is a resident.

                              I had a terrible day at work (actually cried and left in the middle of the afternoon… which is a first for me). So obviously it would be nice to come home and not feel guilty about venting to him… but alas, I can’t really b/c:

                              a) his job is SOOO much worse (he always tells me I shouldn’t use his job as a measuring stick when I feel like I hate my job… but really I wouldn’t have lasted a day as him);

                              b) he’ll be at work until god knows when and go back about 4 hours later; and

                              c) I feel so bad complaining to him during the few hours he has to be normal.

                              So I read some posts on the board and for some reason (which is awesome) feel a lot better… thank you…

                              And now I think I may go out drinking

                              Oh also… I have always been very nervous about posting information on the internet. I know I didn’t provide any of you with much personal information… if there is anything specific you would like to know feel free to PM me
