Hello everyone
Thanks to whomever had the idea to set up this forum. I know everything is to be found on the World Wide Web so instead of continuing my late-evening medical-partner depression bout I googled 'medical spouse' and there you all are!! I wish I had more contacts with the spouses of my partner's colleagues, but it's just not happening right now. I am happy to meet you guys, if virtually.
My partner is in 3rd year of med school and I am a PhD student. He is currently into his General Surgery rotation (which explains the late-evening medical-partner depression bout abovementionned). We are in Canada. We have been together for just over a year (living together for about 9 months now) but I can't say I didn't know what to expect. I had many friends who were medical students and residents before. It's just that the surgery rotation is hitting at full speed right now, and my naturally anxious partner is driving the two of us outright crazy.
I also happen to be a sociologist so thankfully I can rationalize a lot of that's happening, but it doesn't stop it from being hell.
So thanks for setting this up, and I look forward to mingling with you guys in the other threads!!
Grog (I know my handle is confusing - I'm female, in case you wonder)
