Cat Person or Dog Person?

That's why I generally prefer cats. May be we just got lucky with a super smart one, but she'll sit by a very specific door to be let out. I think she was a dog in her past life because she's very good about telling us what she wants and will always be next to or preferably on top of us whenever we're home. She also hates when we're not in the same room and she has to choose.

Anyway, as I was saying, I never expected a cat to be as responsive as she is. She comes when she is called (unless she is sleeping/being lazy). She doesn't just sit by a door...she is vocal. I call her a drama queen bc she has learned how to whine to get her way. Also, she's very lovable...if she's not snuggling with our pitbull then she's laying on one of us. Dh wasn't a "cat" person either...and he now calls her his "little princess." It's the funniest thing...

We have 4 cats, no dogs. Love dogs, but just not the amount of care they need (walking, boarding when we're gone).
One of our cats will meow and lead us to the door, walking toward it , looking back and meowing. Then at the door, he reaches up and pats the doorknob to show he wants out. We play the game and say "oh, what do you want? What do you want me to do? Oh, do you want to go out?" just to get him to perform. We're cruel that way.
