As for Letterman, it could probably be considered harassment, and most likely against their HR policies. But... If anyone was inappropriately promoted or denied a deserved promotion because of it, surely that would have become a lawsuit, right? I mean, it's CBS. If there was a legitimate case, I'm sure anyone could find a lawyer who would take it. I think the people calling for his resignation are just wanting publicity. To me, it's a non-issue.
I agree with you - the actors are probably vying for a spot in one of his movies. I guess for me, it'd be a deal-breaker -- I would refuse a spot in a movie directed by someone with such a twisted sense of morality. But maybe that is why my acting career just hasn't taken off...haha.

Except that Letterman is actually a contractor of CBS (he owns WorldWide Pants, the production company that makes The Late Show), not their immediate employee and their little rules and regs don't exactly apply to him.

I will say it's been nice of Roman Polanski to bring our little troupe of polarized politicos together on an issue. But even THAT major feat doesn't get him out of trouble.

I read something the other day (sorry, can't find it now) where several people were backing off of their defense of Polanksi because they didn't anticipate the shit storm that would follow. Um, duh.

Defending a child rapist gets you ostracized? Who knew?

        Idiots.

          Thanks for the explanation.
The weird thing is, he owns a home in Switzerland. The explanation I heard for why he hadn't been grabbed in Switzerland before this was that the people working to get extradition hadn't, until now, known exactly when he'd be in Switzerland with enough notice to get all the paperwork and permissions in order. Apparently he let it be known he'd be at the awards ceremony far enough in advance that they got permission to nab him as he came off the plane, this time.

Roman Polanski=scumbag that needs to go to prison.

Les Moonves, the president of CBS, dated & married an employee of the net work: Julie Chen, who happens to be a News anchor, Morning show co-host, as well as hosting the Big Brother reality series. I guess @ CBS it's accepted?

Yeah Letterman and Ragina Lasko(his spouse) have been in a long term relation ship for many years. He said he has his "work cut out" for trying to mend the hurt he has caused her. What a dope!

I read on the entire political spectrum. I don't always agree with what I read, but I like to know what people think. That particular Guardian piece was analysis I can agree with. :
