I am trying to watch what I am eating, and i am working out and running, so I am trying to figure out which one is better. They say soy has more protein but skim has less fat? I am not sure what to buy, anybody use one over the other.

Soy Milk vs Skim Milk

I buy locally produced skim milk and I have to say it's so delicious. I don't mind soy milk in stuff but in those situations where flavor matters like cereal or in a glass straight up- the good old skim stuff wins. I buy the dude the whole milk from this dairy and it's so amazing- you have to shake it to mix in the cream. It's like drinking ice cream.

Have you tried lite almond milk? You can get the protein, without the "bad fats" and no side effects that soy causes.
I enjoy the vanilla, unsweetened flavor. Holy moly!Wife to Family Medicine attending, Mom to DS1 and DS2

Skim milk tastes better. Period. (I am just not a fan of Soy, Almond, Rice, Coconut...etc). When I briefly gave up milk thinking it bothered A, I missed it sorely (but did almond as an alternative). Imagine my joy when we discovered I could have it again! There is my two-cents of personal opinion.Wife to PGY4 & Mother of 3.

I can't drink real milk so I drink either unsweetened soy milk or unsweetened almond milk. I am more concerned with sugar than fat content so that's why I go with unsweetened (not "lite"). I'm drinking more almond than soy lately because I am kind of paranoid about the hormones thing now that I'm pregnant; I think almond would taste better too if you are used to real milk. Rice milk has very little protein so don't think that has any benefit for you over skim.

I'm a big fan of unsweetened almond milk. I want to like the coconut milk drink but it's too watery for my tastes. LOVE the coconut milk-based ice creams though.
How was the ice cream? Does it take just like normal/dairy ice cream?Wife to PGY5. Mommy to baby girl born 11/2009. Cat mommy since 2002

Skim milk, IMO, is one of the best things to do for your body nutritionally. It is high protein with lots of vitamins. It's really not that high in calories, but it packs a punch. Lots of studies have shown that drinking skim milk helps you lose weight. It tastes better and is cheaper too!
