Because I had a med-free birth, they asked me if I wanted my placenta. Apparently these things often go together in some kind of hippie birthing tap package or something.
I told them that hippo birthing (med free, tub birth, etc) ended at delivery.Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)
Mama to C (Jan 2012), D (Nov 2013), and R (April 2016). Consulting and homeschooling are my day jobs.

My own mother asked me if I was planning to chow down on my placenta with TBD Baby #2. I'm crunchy, but I'm not quite there...
Maybe I would? IDK.

My sister wanted to save hers for purposes of burying it (essentially composting), and was going to have a placenta burial party. We were all relieved when she forgot to ask to save it because the baby came several weeks early. It's NOT something I would want to go to but I think we would just to be supportive of her.Loving wife of neurosurgeon
