I love you guys! British Royalty is some of my most amusing entertainment. The Royals are so lucky to have Catherine. I adore her and think of her more as a Royal Princess and future Queen of England than I do a Duchess. That being said it seems until she is pregnant her standing with the royals is being treated as tentative or a Royal Princess in training than the seriousness of her long term roll. She's had her formal title little more than a year and she's done a marvelous job considering.

While on holiday to France they did have an expectation of privacy due the Red Carpet Rule which was instated since the tragic death of Princess Diana attributed to the Paparazzi in Paris. The Red Carpet Rule states photographers can only take pictures of Royalty at official public events and they can not hound or harass them otherwise. The young couple didn't announce their vacation as an official event nor as part of their tour of Asia. That doesn't seem to stop the Paparazzi from taking their pictures of the more private intimate moments. We have seen pictures of newlywed Kate pushing around a shopping cart while shopping in Anglesey where her and William reside while he's a RAF Search and Rescue Pilot. Though those weren't nudity pictures.

I expect they'll move into Kensignton Palace when they start their family. I also think they'll have their first child next year and then wait at least two years for the second child. They are moving into Kensington Palace sometime next year and Prince Harry has already moved his belongings into some servant quarters that have been vacant for some time until the more permanent residence quarters renovations are done.

Royal historians averaged the date of a royal marriage to the date of the first royal heir being born and said they expect a baby announcement this Christmas. William and Catherine will never announce it until after the first trimester.

They have their Kenyan "secret-real-engagement" anniversary that happen three years before the official announcement of their engagement. It's coming up in October so they might go on a private "babymoon" then or wait until Nov 16th when the "formal-engagement-announcement" anniversary happened. They could also conceive over the Christmas holiday at Buckingham Palace, when all the Royals get together to stay with family and celebrate the holidays with the Monarch. It would also coincide with the formal announcement of the pregnancy on their 2nd wedding anniversary in April. Most of their official Royal engagements would be over for the year already and they could coast on into being new parents. Already I am so excited to meet the royal heir to the throne. Since Parliament voted to allow the first born to be the royal heir no matter the gender it could be a boy or a girl that gets the honor. I just can't wait to see William and Catherine become Father and Mother to them and watching Kate's fashion in her maternity wear. It's so exciting and I'm sure I'll love watching their two little kids grow.

        LOL, fa real!

It's just unfathomable to me that something as highly variable as conceiving a child can be planned with such accuracy. If they can seriously time the arrival of a baby with a certain anniversary or holiday, I want to know who the hell her doctor is...

Hope they don't have fertility issues. Yikes. Is it naive to hope that they're, oh I don't know, waiting to start a family until they're willing and ready?

Well they are an nontraditional couple being that a future king married a commoner so they could go well outside the perimeters for traditional customs. Such as Catherine going topless on their private vacation. Notice we don't have pictures of Williams privates in the papers nor do I expect to see them seeing as he's been groomed for his role since birth.

Hey, if you don't have any fertility issues and have a little luck, shooting for a certain month isn't too hard

The Japanese royals are nuts when it came to one of the princesses not producing a male heir. Through interventions, after relentless speculation, the poor gal was able to become pregnant with---a girl. Gasp! She's had nervous breakdown after nervous breakdown, rarely appears in public, etc. Their only job is to procreate.

I remember this vividly. It's constantly in the news over there when she does appear. It's so sad.

The stress of shooting for a specific month can impact your fertility. They should leave the poor girl alone! I think though that William is very good at handling the pressure - he seems to take that stuff all in stride and knows his duty but also to do what's right for his family. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Sad, but still true, for many cultures (regardless of royalty or not).
A male heir is a BFD, *even better* if the firstborn child is male.

I think I read in TIME about being able to decide your child's gender, and Japan was one of the only Asian countries where people don't have a preference. Still, when it comes to the Japanese royal family, only the male heir can succeed to the throne. The princess in question was Harvard educated, worked, and felt forced to get married -- turning down the prince's marriage proposals more than twice. And having issues is probably the prince's problem. If you are so inbred, you've got to think that not everything is fully functional down there.... To blame it on her (which the Japanese people do) is ridiculous and so antiquated.

Correction it's not Buckingham Palace they go to for Christmas it's Sandringham House. Here's something to read about the Christmas tradition. Link

I'm not a royal expert just an observer. Over these past few years watching the British Royals I've really come to understand the role of a sovereign. It's not just about baby making though that is a important part for the heir(s) to the throne. There are many royals in the world and this royal family is connected especially to the royal families throughout Europe because of it's long history. Part of their duty is preserving the heritage and culture of their country and region and offering a light to the people and leaders of the world. That said tradition, customs and protocol are heavily important on the heirs to the throne because they will reign the length of their lives. They are not appointed or voted in and out. They are the one constant that all British Prime Ministers and world leaders can go to and have a private meeting with if need be to get guidance on issues, and learn about what the leaders before them thought and did from first hand accounts of personal relationships and conversations with them.

So while they are the oldest aristocracy and they don't have to work they still have duties such as to charities and bringing attention to causes. For the heirs to carry on the legacy their duties would be producing an heir and a spare as they say. They're also why I love watching the period drama on TV called, "Downton Abbey."

The Windsors are GERMANS! There is very little that is British about them, other than the surname they made up for themselves!
