Did anyone have a good state/local debate the same night? We did and it was also very interesting for someone like me that hasn't always lived in this state.

But, without a doubt, the highlight of the night was watching Axelrod and the mainstream media pathetically scramble in post-debate shock.

Hopefully, Romney will stick with it and not puss out.
I get what you are saying but the smile was kind of creepy, no?? Less smiling Mitch! It looks painful and not natural on his face. I know.. a small thing when it comes to the meaningful things but it really bugged me.

Romney said in an interview that we didn't need insurance coverage for everyone because we have ERs and everyone can get care there.

Moonlight: yeah, not thrilled about the smile. But I have a lot of sympathy for nervous behaviors when you're at a lecturn (been there!!). I didn't complain about Mitt's smile, and I also didn't complain about Obama's occasional sneer or look of boredom. People suggest that Obama was disengaged--I suspect that his appearance had a lot more to do with how he handles public stress, rather than his attitude about the debate or his opponent. Those guys were being watched by 50MM people. I'd probably be openly vomiting.

At the end of the night I had friend post on FB "There should be a dance off instead of closing arguments." That what my line of thought, the rules were not adhered to for debate and it turned into more of a circus of "Yes, you did." "No you didn't" that I would have rathered watch the two of them dress up as wrestlers from Nacho Libre and have a UFC style smack down moderated by John Stewart.

Are you kidding me!?! If I had to talk on TV in front of millions of people I would get sick, become totally speechless, and faint. No kidding. I give anyone mad props for being able to get up there and do it, and do it well. That's why I still admire Clinton (both Bill and Hillary... she's gotten really good this year) when it comes to owning the room of MILLIONS of people. Regardless if you like him (or her) he does it with such a ease and relaxed confidence. Not sure if it's because he's the best BSer or if he's that smart, but it's amazing for me to watch him talk on the really big stages like last month in CLT.

I felt like it was going to be two roosters squawking and flapping at each other while the mob cheered and ran bets. I don't feel like being ill any time either of those two opens their mouth. It's just a "my talking points can smack down your talking points" contest at this point.

The only part of the debate I paid attention to was reading Bill Maher's status updates on facebook.

Biden was incredibly disrespectful. Shockingly so with his smirking and laughing. He came across as smug and condescending by his mannerisms. He did himself no favors. I think Charles Krauthhamer hit the nail on the head: if it were on the transcript, it was a draw; if it was on the audio-only, Biden won; if it was on the TV, Biden lost.
