    You know, you can't keep them in a bubble, but I have to say that keeping my kids away from THOSE types of "socialization" is just one of the many reasons we homeschool. I'd rather socialize my children correctly and have them encounter these things later in life (and, then be able to better understand the harm that such behaviors can cause them) than have them pick up these bad habits or even a tolerance for others who exhibit this behavior and find myself scrambling to "fix the mistakes" and/or correct the resultant misperceptions.

    I do think that people seek happiness. That's an innate human drive in my opinion. Unfortunately our popular culture includes some very destructive behaviors under the term "happiness".
