I had read the previous posts as suggesting she'd be held to a higher standard because she was a woman - not lower. Maybe I need to take a second look.
Sadly, I don't like Hillary either. I do like a lot of female politicians - at least when I hear them speak. Something about Hillary rings false to my liberal-lovin', Northeastern ears. Sorry. I don't think she has Bill's charisma. He may rub people the wrong way, but when he said "I feel your pain" I believed him. JMHO - but I did believe him. Hillary? Not so much. I also agreed with Bill on when it was time to compromise and when it was not.
I think Hillary makes some decisions that are politically pragmatic and others that are overly idealistic, but I don't agree with her choices. When she's been idealistic (health care), I wish she'd been more pragmatic. When she'd been pragmatic (bankruptcy law), I wish she'd been more idealistic. She's not in sync with me personally, so I wouldn't vote for her given other more viable choices. (I also think she'd sink the Democratic party.) I'm eager to see who both parties put up in 2008. I do like McCain - he also resonates with me. You may fault me for choosing candidates based on such flaky criterion, but I think a lot of citizens get interested in a person by their first impression. I think Hillary leaves a bad one - at least on screen. In person, I hear she's HOT.
