Ok, there are about two times in any person's career that the Most Perfect Job in The Universe appears. and I think I've found one of those times.
As most of the old-timers know, I have worked with adults with developmental disabilities (or intellectual disabilities as they're now labelled- when will people learn that a label is a label and therefore by default, offensive?) all of my life. and that I quit my job to deal with the adoption and then to be home with Nikolai. I really do love being home with him, but I really do miss having a toe in the water, as well.
Ok, I mostly love being home with him and I desperately miss having a job and money.
Anyway, I found possibly the most perfect solution- there's a training position that I found that requires 2-8 days A MONTH. and it's 75% travel just like my last job (which was really 100% travel). How FAB would that be? I could train staff AND make some money AND exercise my brain AND get a temporary break from full-time mommyhood.
So, I emailed the guy my resume and cover letter and will now obsessively check my email for the next three weeks.
