  • Rebate checks

Are you getting one, and if so ... what are you planning to do with the money?

We haven't gotten ours yet, but I'm guessing we'll get around $1500 ($1200 for married couple, plus $300 for one child). It's all going into savings, no stimulating the economy for us. :P

I think we're getting $1500? Which is what we had to pay out at tax time, so we'll put it back in savings and "break even."

We should be getting $1,500 too. DH is using his half to get new golf clubs. I haven't decided what I'm doing with mine, Adele's will probably go into her savings. We need to have someone come look at our fence but I'm hoping we don't have to use it for that.

Credit card (we took a short trip to FL earlier in the year). Otherwise, we don't usually have a balance on the thing!

I think savings for us too...we're boring. Although I think DH should get a (decent) new pair of sunglasses. His cheap-o ones keep breaking.

                    Re: Rebate checks

we are getting 1200. Spent it on flights to Tennessee for Memorial Day weekend and also to MI for the 4th of July. Anything left will go to spending $ for the trips.

I guess we are stimulating...but our other money is going into Roth IRAs and high interest savings...we are really trying to fatten these up until we no longer qualify for the Roths...and we need to buy a house.

Our rebate will be spent (like Julia's) on dh's travel.

$1800 was just deposited this morning. It will all go into savings. We are saving for built-ins in our home office, which we hope to have enough by August/September.

We haven't received ours yet, but it should be $2100. It's going toward the kids' private school tuition, which sadly will only be a drop in the bucket.

You guys have me obsessively checking my bank account. I can't remember the amount we were going to get.

According to Turbotax when I did our return we will only get $600. Not sure why. Probably we didn't earn enough/pay enough tax?
Either way, it is going in the savings account/ LA survival fund.
