After a night filled with tooth panic, I went to the dentist thinking root canal - NOPE, filled the cavity for $130!!! Boy am I glad it didn't take more of our rebate, I was getting worried!

I haven't gotten my rebate... Did those of you who got the rebate get a letter in the mail? I didn't get a letter, but my mom did. Maybe we aren't getting one. I don't see how we wouldn't......

We got 2 letters- one in March, I think, and then another one that arrived after our refund was deposited. It was telling us that we were supposed to have had our refund deposited--- it was reminding us to get out there and spend it.

As long as you filed a 1040 or 1040A, you should get one, even if you had "0" tax liability. Plus you should get $300 for each kiddo. I would go to the IRS website and see what the problem is-- it's worth looking into! They are waiting to send out the paper checks until after May 21- I think... I'm not sure about that date. We did direct deposit.

Ours came after the deposit - which btw we did not get the whole rebate. I still don't understand how an income below $30K can't get a full rebate. :| I think it's cause of the small cash I made working for my dad as "self employed", still we made UNDER $30K. And I didn't get the notice until later, about two days later.

Davita you can go to http://www.irs.com and put in your info from your tax form and find out how much you are getting, I didn't realize that.

The letter we got before was just general about the rebate - nothing specific like how much you were getting.

Davita, We haven't gotten out rebate yet either. I don't see why we wouldn't be getting one. We did get a letter that was very general in nature before filing. We paid taxes so perhaps that means a paper check is heading our way and will take longer. :huh:

We got our letter a week ago. I don't know if the check has been deposited yet. DH will check on that.

Ours will buy an armoire for DD's room (matches the crib that will turn into a twin bed later) and a maternity evening gown for DH's residency graduation dinner.

After reconciling myself to the idea that for whatever reason we would not be getting a check, we then got a letter three days ago saying our check would come by the 20th. Nothing yet.

We got ours today. Totally weren't counting on it, but hey an extra grand can't hurt. Of course DH had to point out that it's borrowed Chinese money.
