  • My mom needs to refinance her condo....

and she is very intimidated by the whole process. What national loan lenders have you worked with that were not stressful? I have her checking on a couple local lenders, but she is so slow moving, I thought I could do some leg work for her.

I would HIGHLY recommend looking into a local credit union. In my experience, the service level and interest rates are typically better than a large national bank.

I agree, we just re-fi'd our house and the local bank was able to do WAY better then anyone else.

Local credit union all the way. My AlaskaUSA peeps held my hand both times and it was so smooth and easy. Plus competitive rates.

We went with a local bank here, and it's been great (the CFO reviewed our info himself to get us to close in a two week time frame after a national bank left us flailing with no loan after being "pure approved"). I will never use a large bank again if I can help it.

I agree--go local! I don't know where she's located, but we love Homestreet Bank where we are.

Thanks. She belongs to a local credit union that she plans to get info from. I thought she should get s couple sources. Quicken loans approached her via mail, but there closing costs were outrageous.
