Hilton left the courtoom in tears, screaming, "Mom, Mom, Mom."

One witness described the scene as being "physically dragged" out of the courtroom by a female deputy.

Me, too. I believe this may be the first time in her life her parents money hasn't "bought" her out of a predicament. It is probably the first time she has been held responsible for something, and must act accordingly. That is a bitter pill to swallow at age 26. Most of us learn by age 3 that we aren't going to get away with what we da*n well please all the time. This is her parent's fault.

Can't say that I feel sorry for her unless she has a REAL medical condition which is doesn't sound like she does. "Celebrities" and I use that word loosely b/c really, what is she famous for? Anyway they need to learn they are not above the law. I'm sure a lot of first time jailbirds get freaked out during the first few days of their term - get OVER it!

But, yes, her parents are just as much to blame b/c of the way they raised her. At the same time her sister seems to have stayed out of trouble so what does that tell us?

That apparently her parents focused mainly on Paris.

Hollywood outlaw Paris Hilton spent her first night in the County jail medical ward sullen and withdrawn.According to TMZ, Paris has been crying a lot, praying and extremely withdrawn in the medical ward at Twin Towers, an L.A. County jail facility.

Sources have described her condition today as “fragile” and “despondent.” One source called her “a train wreck” while another said she is “sullen and withdrawn.”

                      Detoxing perhaps?

Paris was visited by her Psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy and had a two hour session with him.

She has been put in a room by herself with a glass door. For her protection, a sergeant guards the door at all times.

Meanwhile, despite earlier reports, Paris says she will not appeal her 45-day jail sentence. Here’s the statement:

Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge’s decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff’s concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience. As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.

I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world.”

Translation: Her lawyer told her she had no grounds for appeal, so she might as well spin it as though she is being tough and facing her sentence. She needs the PR after yesterday’s sobfest.

And, she’ll now spend her time doped up on happy pills in the soft beds of the medical ward, so it won’t be so bad.

And I loved the patriotism-inducing Iraq comment. She should run for office! (Well, at least the lawyer who wrote this should!)

When I think of the people I know in Iraq (especially Rick) how dare she use that as an excuse to deflect and defuse her own f%&%ed up situation, of her own doing. It makes me soooooooo mad, I don't know what to say.

                              TMZ:

Paris Hilton got on the horn with Barbara Walters yesterday, and told her that she felt "caged" in jail, but said that she's tired of playing "dumb" and that "God has given me this new chance."

"Good Morning America" reports that Babwa was on the phone with Paris' mom Kathy when Paris called in on the other line -- and said she wanted to talk to Walters directly. So Paris called her collect in New York, and they had a brief chat. Among the highlights: "I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. ... It was a horrible experience." More details of the conversation will be unveiled on "The View" later.

And in case you missed it over the weekend ... TMZ told you that Paris won't appeal her sentence, that she was "teetering on the brink" and "depressed" on Saturday while in jail, and, yesterday, that all she's eating is cereal and bread, but that she's feeling better on her meds. Check back for more Paris all day long.

Somehow methinks she's not going to be sticking with this new found discovery, either.

What's the old saying, "there are no atheists in the trenches?" (not true, FYI, but I digress)

Maybe she needs to find herself, first.
