I think domestic situations are complicated. Don't get me wrong: violence is NEVER justified unless it is in proportional self-defense. However, if this was a domestic dispute that got way out of hand, I'd bet both parties lead to the escalation. You know how husband-and-wife stuff goes. You never fight as dirty as you do with those you love the most. Intimacy breeds viciousness.

If they are having problems, I hope they get it worked out. They have two little kids that don't deserve to be exposed to whatever lead up to this.

my take:
she found out after the (acurate of late) enquirer published the affair. Scratched up his face, he jumps in car, she beats window w golf club, he's taking an RX for something. Confused, possibly guilty, running from pissed off wife, wee hours of morning, panicked...then the crash.
I don't believe little Elin was smashing the window to help get him out. And I think she prolly did scratch is face.
I just have a very hard time believing he would risk his *very* clean reputation on that chick...who's known as a home wrecker.
And now of course the chick has that (annoying fame seeker) Gloria whatshername lawyer representing her. Press conference tomorrow, according to TMZ.
I don't want to believe it. Other than his ocassional,hot headed ways on course probs, I'd like to think it's bunk.
If we notice Elin sporting the "Kobe special" (as mentioned soooo many times) we'll know he was a cheatin! (maybe)

I am in agreement with Abigail. I bet this was a nasty of a fight that should have never seen the light of day.

DH and I have been to parties in this subdivision (my IL's live in Windermere), and it is riddled with scandal. Tiger and wife have had a lovely low-key existence until now. He would go to the grocery, a few small eateries, and no one gave them hassle. I am sure all bets are off now, and the pap will be hounding them night and day,

Yup, he's a cheater. US Weekly is releasing the voice mail he left another woman telling her he thinks his wife is on to them tomorrow morning.

I am so sorry for his wife. I'm sure it is hard enough to find out your spouse is cheating, but to find out with the whole world. Reminds me of how Kobe's wife had a breakdown and was admitted to the hospital.

If he was cheating, then I have no problem with him facing logical consequences - losing fans, endorsements, etc. He has built his career based partially on his clean, wholesome image. But cheating doesn't give his wife the right to physically attack him. If the situation were reversed, and he'd beaten her up with a golf club for suspected cheating, there wouldn't be any talk about "well, maybe she had it coming..."

Sorry, I haven't been following the story that closely, so maybe I missed something.

No I would say she didn't beat him up because he would be WAY worse for the wear if she had. I don't think it's right but I would have beat the HELL out of him if I was her. How old is their youngest? And apparently this affair has been going on for some time? So sad for his poor wife
