I remember my group of friends was OBSESSED with titanic.. Don't get me wrong.. I definitely saw it twice, but one girl saw it in the theater 17 times. Not even exaggerating. 17. Granted I think six were at the "cheap seats" once the movie left the big theater, but still 17!!! Insane... I don't think there is anyway in the world I'll be able to drag the hubs to this one... but can't blame a girl for trying!

I'm more excited about jurassic park coming out in 3D! Those crappy special effects with probably look terrible, but I don't care!!!

I'll probably pass on titanic 3D. Once was enough for me!
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Yes this was my friends too. We must have been teen/tweens and most girls were obsessed with Leo! I only saw it and Romeo and Juliet each once, but my friends saw it a dozen times. The re-release makes me feel old.

If you were a tween when this came out, then I am really old now! I was in grad school.

Saw Titanic last night. Man it's a whole lot different as an adult than it was as a 13 year old! Watching as a mommy and a wife is a lot more emotional than just swooning over Leo.

Yeah, for me, the most heartbreaking part is when the woman in steerage tucks her kids in and reads them a bedtime story as the ship is sinking.

Same here, MrsK. I'm cold otherwise. I saw it again during my maternity leave and kept thinking re: Kate & Leo "True love my rear, you've known each other for all of a weekend. I've had a longer love affair with a box of donuts."

Me too MrsK! Well...now it is anyway. And just thinking about all of the women having to leave their husbands. And THEN sitting on a life boat that won't go back for them.

:hijack: along the same vein as the mother tucking her kids in on a sinking ship, have you ever seen "Life is Beautiful"? It's the most devistating parental sacrifice movie I've ever seen.

Oh gosh, even thinking of that movie makes me tear up. Adding it to the list of movies I can't watch post-motherhood.
