:hijack: along the same vein as the mother tucking her kids in on a sinking ship, have you ever seen "Life is Beautiful"? It's the most devastating parental sacrifice movie I've ever seen.
More than Sophie's Choice???? I have only seen parts of Life is Beautiful, obviously I haven't watched the whole thing. I saw Sophie's choice after DD was born, I remember looking at the 2 of my children & feeling physically ill at the mere thought!

I haven't seen Sophie's Choice so I cannot compare. In Life is Beautiful, a father protects his little son from the horrors a concentration camp by telling him that it's an elaborate game and not real. All the while he is terrified as the desperation of their circumstances becomes more and more obvious.

I loved the 1996 Romeo and Juliette version with Leo too! I dragged dh to Titanic in 3D the other night and I still loved it. He said he never liked it since it came out but didn't want me to be disappointed or go alone so he went with me. LOL

I'm glad to finally have the experience of seeing it in theaters. The guy in front of us in line talked for 15 minutes to the ticket guy about how he wished they'd do that with the old Star Wars movies too.

Haha he must not be a big Star Wars fan... They're already doing them!

Then I guess he'll be happy to learn that when he finds out.
