I try to take pics of DD once a month - so I am good for at least that.

I've taken one photography class and kind of understand the ISO, shutter speed and lens (but need to brush up on it). I mostly shoot on "S" and "Auto" in the winter because I haven't figured out the indoor lighting thing yet.

    I have a Nikon D40.

I might be interested. DH has a Pentax DSLR and a few lenses. If we tweak our photos, we do it in iPhoto or Picasa, but we do own Photoshop Elements. I am terrified of the DSLR and know very little about operating a camera, but I've played a little with white balance, composition, and lighting with P&S cameras (especially still lifes with yarn).

Why don't I stretch each technique into two weeks? I'll post the info, links (plz add your own too!) and challenge for the first week. The second week can be an optional second challenge or catching up. It will probably make my life less complicated too.

BTW Jude starts daily morning daycare in January. Otherwise, there is no way I would offer to spearhead this.

I'm really excited! I love the idea of a two-week spread.

I'm in!! I'll be able to do it most of the time, especially if it's stretched into two weeks. My school schedule is lighter this time around because I'm not interested in having no life.

I have a rebel T2i with a kit lens. Sad to say, I've hardly taken a photo in over a year, so my experience is back to not knowing anything. Thanks for doing this, Ladybug!

Could we maybe utilize the iMSN FB page for this? It might be easier to upload, etc. Maybe each participant creates their own album on there (one album per person with ~52 pictures)? That way, the comments are streamlined to the photos, and we can each have a nice "slideshow" of our year when we're done. Just a thought

Could this be optional? I don't post kid pictures on FB because I have had too many issues with their privacy practices opening "private" albums public.

I'm in, too!!! I'd say I'm not quite a beginner, but I have a lot to learn! I can do manual mode, and I like it if I have a lot of light.

Great idea! I created an album with my imsn name and P52. We can create a subgroup imsn FB imsn page for the 52 projects (DSLR and iphone) if the albums will crowd the FB page...? I guess that's the nonparticipants call...

What is the max pixel size on FB photos. I've seen 700, but I've posted 900 too. Do they all downsize to 700?

We could post here to in a private forum with call room-like restrictions. Admins? Thoughts?

I would love to do it. We have a canon. And my knowledge is limited to turning it on and to auto. Is that ok?

Thanks so much for doing this, it is a nice slow and steady way of learning. There is just so much to learn, I like the idea of learning one thing at a time and putting it to use!
