Re: Where do you buy your clothes?

    So where do you buy:

    1) work clothes - Ann Taylor Loft, Banana, yard sales
    2) special occasion - Marshalls, Loehmans, TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack
    3) leisure clothes - Marshalls, Ross, Nordstrom Rack; yard sales
    4) heels - Nordstrom Rack
    5) accessories - Nordstrom Rack
    6) best bargains for your money - yard sales! Recently I got a ton of new things at a yard sale, some still with tags. I got a pair of wool Tahari pants ($2), a Margaret O'Leary sweater ($1) Ann Taylor cardigan ($1) and lots of other brand name clothes, all in excellent condition and all for $22!!

I am a sale shopper, I never buy anything full price and I rarely shop anywhere else but outlets and discount shops like Marshalls.

Re: Where do you buy your clothes?

This thread is making me want to cry. I haven't been in a clothing store since April. The last time I bought clothing it was online from Venus and it was just a bunch of frilly summery clothing on clearance. Yeah, it's still unbelievably hot here.

      1) work clothes - J. Crew, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic
      2) special occasion - eBay, Nordstrom
      3) leisure clothes - Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret, Papaya
      4) heels - Zappos
      5) accessories - Macy's, but I usually get these as gifts so I rarely buy stuff for myself
      6) best bargains for your money - eBay!!!
      7) jeans - Victoria's Secret, Aeropostale
      8) undies - Victoria's Secret, Frederick's of Hollywood, Barely There

Re: Where do you buy your clothes?

This thread is making me sad, too. I love all these aforementioned stores. But seriously, how do you shop with kids?

I took three kids to Costco yesterday. They had Lucky Brand jeans for $40. I needed to try them on and went to the restroom holding one child and pushing a heavy cart. They stopped me and said I wasn't allowed in there with unpaid merchandise. So I would have to go through the line, pay for my stuff, take the jeans in the bathroom and then come out and ask the worker to get me another pair if they didn't fit. Or take them home and make another trip with three kids if they didn't fit. That isn't for with savings to me.

When I shop my kids are running around the store, trying on accessories and basically make the trip a nightmare. I need new clothes and a babysitter!

Whenever I buy slacks or blouses at Costco, I buy a couple of sizes and take them home with me to try on. The "good" thing is that you can make returns at the counter right at the exit of the store. So, when you want to make a return, you at least don't have to go to one of the main registers. It's still a PITA no matter how you look at it.
