Ooooh, I hadn't seen that line yet. I love Michael Miller fabric, too. I'm also a fabric addict....too bad I can't sew much more than pillow covers. I really need to take a sewing class!

I just saw this toy box on Etsy. I need to ask DH if he could build something similar.....I'm sure it would be much cheaper!

I buy most of my fabric on ebay. There are a couple of "stores" that I use regularly. One of them has AMAZINGLY fast shipping. As in I pay on Friday and it is at my house from CA on Saturday, a couple of times it has been by Monday. I tend to use Alexander Henry and Michael Miller fabrics for my aprons, blankets, and burpies.

I love that box and it can totally be made. The cost would depend on what kind of wood was used. DH built a media storage cabinet and it ended up costing about $250. Much cheaper than if we would have bought one equivalent to the size and style I wanted but more than I anticipated when he told me he would just build me one. DH loves his table saw. The only thing I like about it is that it folds up and can put up against the wall. I hate it when works with the saw. We definitely need to get some disability insurance. In the last 7 months he built the cabinet, tore down the old shed and built a new one, and made a book shelf thingy. Back to OP, love the toy box, love etsy, love fabric.

Well... if your a fabric nerd like me you spend to many hours pooring over who has what of each artist release. For instance Moda (a company) has probably 50 or more artitsts who get Moda to sell their designs. So the best is to go straight to Moda's website to see the full lines available. Then other designers like Amy Butler sell their own lines. Her website, very addictive btw is http://www.amybutlerdesign.com Good sites to see fabric on (vendors) are:

http://www.fatquartershop.com (I like that they give "quilter squares" showing all the fabrics so you don't waist time looking at the 10 fabrics under one line)

http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/ this one is only ok IMO, but has a large selection

Basically you figure out after fabric hoarding who you like, and then bop around to see which vendor is selling the line, and find out who is selling the complete line. Often vendors will only select like 5 out of the 10 fabrics under one line, which sends you out browing to find what you want.

Warning though - fabric colors are impossible to come out true on a computer screen so order small or ask for a swatch if you can't get your hands on it IRL.

I too love Alexander Henry, but a lot of the fabrics are to novelity based, and odd natural florals, but the modern fabrics are absolutely fabulous! I honestly think they have a set of artists too and they aren't mentioned on the fabric label, it's just to diverse of a line to be from one artist

Thanks for the info. I found the paducah one last night. I am trying to rip off a pottery barn look for my daughter's room. Most of the new fabrics from these designers use pink. I need some lavender and lime green. If you spot some let me know! I wish I could sew, these fabrics are beautiful! I am going to keep looking. Joann Fabrics doesn't cut it.

Not sure what look you are going for but Sis Boom has some purples and greens in the Mod Girls and Girlfriends line.

I am officially drafted. I have no use for lots of fabric, but how can you not love it. I love Erin McMorris, Dena Fishbein, Me and My Sisters (Moda), Freshcut just to name ones I need to see for my daughter's room. There is a quilting store nearby which supposedly carries some of the Freespirit stuff. I am going to check it out tomorrow on my spa day between my dr appt, grocery shopping and volunteering. I can't wait!

I was going to suggest taking a look at Freespirit. I'm glad a shop by you stocks some of their fabrics.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had printed out several of those from the Sun Drop Line. Her bedding has some floral stuff so they will work well. DH and I are going to cover some canvas or foam board with fabric for wall hangings. Luckily, he likes to participate in the decorating. Unfortunately, we don't agree on fabric choices. I hope this place with let me bring home some samples.

Grocery shopping without three kids is like going to the spa in my opinion!
