  • Baby Boy Clothes

Can any one recommend some good on-line stores or clothing lines for sweet baby boy clothes? I've been looking for stuff for Baby K and there are slim pickings. Everything seems to be covered with footballs, trucks, even skulls. Lots of muddy colors, stripes, sports jerseys. All sorts of macho stuff meant to make him look like a minature man. I'd like him to be a sweet babe at least for a little while . . . before he's old enough to care if the other babies think his momma dresses him funny. A boy's gotta have fun too!

I'm sorry to break the news to you, but boys' clothes are not nearly as cute as girls'. I still shop for kids clothes like DH is a resident, but when I tell others to shop for him, we have found cute things at Janie and Jack, Hartstrings, Nordstroms, and Von Maur. For my shopping, Old Navy, Children's Place (sometimes), Carters, and Little Me are probably the best bets. Basically, if you see something cute, pick it up - I think they're few and far between. Also, once you reach the 18 month size, almost all clothes look like they were made for a miniature man.

Yep, what Deb said - I haven't had much luck finding super cute stuff for #2, it just doesn't exist. He'll just have to be cute on his own.

Yeah, that's what I've found. I picked up a cute cable knit cardigan and hat with pompoms at A Children's Place yesterday. Told DrK that the kid will have to be cute on his own. My brother is a sports fan so he doesn't object to dressing his boys in team gear but I'm really not into that. Also, the stuff doesn't even look comfortable or practical. Button down shirts? Pull on pants w/o snaps? Seriously?

Welcome to my world! I have two little boys. I will say that Baby Gap has some cute, sweet baby boy clothes. Pottery Barn Kids online also has some nice boy clothes. But it will always be a challenge. Now that DS1 is two, it all about the sports gear. In fact, he has to wear his Michigan jersey or coat everyday and walks around with his football.

Gymboree, Hanna Andersson, Carters, and Zutano has some really cute stuff. While it might be difficult to find cute baby boy clothes now trust me, in about 5 years when your friends with girls are complaining that all they can find is half shirts and booty shorts you'll be greatful for levis and sport t-shirts.

Why doesn't this exist? Seems like there is a market for it if all the mommas are complaining that they can't find cute clothes for their baby boys.

Sometimes I have luck at TJ Maxx or Marshall's with Ralph Lauren or similar brand sleepers.

Oh yeah! I actually get most of DS1's Ralph Lauren clothes at TJ Maxx. I like to dress him preppy. They always have Polo on deep discount. I got DS2 the cutest Ralph Lauren matching jacket and pants for $12.00.

I always loved Carters and Osh Kosh for my boys (well, more accurately, I loved the Carters and Osh Kosh *outlets*) and all of the stuff made it through at least two of the boys, if not all three. I thought it was cute stuff at the time, but compared with what I saw for girls, there was a much narrower range of stuff to choose from.

My in-laws buy lots of Polo things for my nephew at TJ Maxx. I think Nordstrom Rack would be a good place too.

I was also going to suggest Carter's. Before you go though, sign up on their website. They send out coupons probably every other week (20% off $40 or $50 usually).

The etsy stuff is adorable. So what if he looks like a sissy for a couple years. I really want to get a smocked bubble or something like that for his homecoming and bris. Looks like there were a couple on etsy. Aside from that, all I've been able to find are tuxedos, suits, and christening oufits. After the bris, I'll just have to figure it out. But seriously, what's up with the skulls on baby clothes? I'm not talking halloween stuff either.
