What about sweaters/vests that have really long tail-like sides, could you throw that over the baby as a cover? I'm talking about something like this, . Cotton cardigans are usually washable and prints would mask spit up stains better than solids, AT and Loft have some nice short sleeve ones that would be great for the summer (http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalog...zeType=Regular). As for the button downs, I would get ones that fit in the shoulders and not button them all the way up, since you'll have a tank underneath anyway.

Check out this site, http://www.mommygear.com/blissfulbab...g-wear.htm#524 I think they have some interesting items.
Love the cardigans. I've been wearing lots of those with nursing tanks at work but they aren't good for public nursing. As for the covers, I have one but it is a hassle to use and the cover usually ends up being set aside if the baby starts choking or something. Generally, regardless of whether I have a drape or whatever it seems that nipple slips sometimes occur when the baby latches on or off. I'm not super-modest about it any more -- seems that there is nothing erotic about my breasts any more. It's sad really. I'd like to feel like a hot/sexy momma but I mostly feel like the milk factory. The baby has already lifted the cover when he's looking for the breast so I think the covers will be out very soon. But when he's actually nursing nothing can be seen -- also helps that the little guy tends to put his hand or arm over his mouth when nursing so momma has maximum privacy. The wrap blouse is great. Who makes it? Am I too short to pull it off? As for the nursing dresses, thanks for introducing me to that site. I've noticed that lots of nursing garments are poorly constructed. Do you know anything about that manufacturer? BTW, I'm loving this top: http://www.mommygear.com/mommy-gear-...sing-tunic.htm

I am following this thread closely, just for future info.
I went to the site (MommyGear), where I found this: http://www.mommygear.com/baby-aspen-doc.htm

BabyK has that. LadyM got it for him and it's adorable. I cannot wait to take pics of him in it with the doctors kit he's had since before birth.

I love this thread. Any ideas for tops/sweaters that don't drape, but do a good job of hiding the pouch?
Alison, the key to "hiding" the pouch is to wear clothes that fit well (don't create extra bulk but don't give a muffin top either) and to accentuate another body part that you like more. So what part wouldn't you mind showing off? It can be shoulders, neck, legs, arms, anything.

This is the wrap top I have in red....I also have the dress in black and white. Dress was the best option I could find for a wedding with very short notice.

Well, I would say that my weaknesses are my height, legs and my belly. I look about 5 months pregnant. And to be honest, I'm just so lonely here that food has become kind of a good friend...
For tops, I wouldn't mind accentuating my arms and shoulders. They're ok, I guess. But I can't wear tanks all the time, right?

The wrap construction seems great (very little exposure) and looks like it comes in long sleeve as well.

Alison, instead of tanks, go for sleeveless tops that bring attention to the top of your body and away from midsection. Also straight leg on a a pant with a slight wedge will elongate your silhouette and make it look leaner. Try to stick to petite sizes for both tops and bottoms to maintain the right proportion.

Here are some examples from Jcrew and Nordstrom sale sections.

Awesome, J! This will get me started. I like the Nordstrom halter, and I think that's the right direction for me for tops! Unfortunately they don't have my size. Also, the Jcrew wedges are cute. I think they will work well! Thank you!!!!

I have a question for the BF'ing moms. Have you found any nursing bras that you like? I've tried 4 different kinds but not crazy about any of them. I also don't want to spend $40 on a bra that I'll only wear for a couple of months. My main issue is that I'm used to the support of the underwire but now it's too uncomfortable to wear one and wireless ones just don't support anything. Tanks with a shelf aren't bad but if the top fits, the rest is too big and I'd like to wear some pretty tops without a tank. I also need padding to hide bra pads, can't leave home without them.

I actually loved one of the nursing bras at motherhood, of all places! It wasn't too pricey, either, and had an underwire. It was this one http://www.motherhood.com/Product.as...tegory_Id=MC29 ... and it actually provided better support than that model looks to be getting. Hopefully they have it in a standard size, too.

I have the top in black and white and LOVE it. I'm not even nursing anymore and I still wear it. Another plus is that it washes up great!
