For jeans - usually $20-$40 BUT was pressured in to buying $120 skinny jeans that I rarely wear (they are not comfortable). If I want to wear skinny jeans, I wear the ones got from Old Navy for $20.

For shoes - around $40-50 work shoes ( I usually can get Eccos, Sofft and or Cole Haan Air at the bi-annual 70% off rack). For cute, not going to wear them everyday...$20. I did once buy $425 pair of Anyi Lu shoes that have a classic look and I thought it would be my "on my feet at work all day" perfect shoe. Not so...I do better with the cheaper ones and get pissed off every time I think I spent that much. I believe if I am going to spend that much, I should not have to add insoles and they should never hurt.

Purses - I am not a purse person. I only carry one because I have to carry around so much crap for work. I have 2 Coach purses I rotate throughout the year for work. Got both heavily discounted for around $100. They are all leather and have held up very well considering they are 2 1/2 years old. For travel purses, I use my PacSafe ones (around $50) and for fun (out at the farmer's market, going out to dinner, etc), I have a wrislet ($25).
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Isn't it striking how doctor's wives are so dang CHEAP!!!

I'll spend on everyday shoes. That would be Birks. Everyday shoes. But I wear them out and they last years. So, 60-100 bucks for a pair is not a huge deal. I don't even bother to wear heals. I have 2 pairs already, and they are ok, I can walk in them, and that's about all I need. I did splurge on some nice boots this year- they were super-discounted from Amazon, but still cost $80 I think. They were originally mid-200s. I really used them a lot, tho, with all the snow!

Purses are usually 50-100. I use a purse for about 4 months, then switch to another. Sometimes I switch back to purse 1. They aren't fashion pieces- I need functionality right now! I'm starting to spend too much time in the military base store looking at Coach purses, though. I think when J is out of diapers I'll splurge on a purse.

Jeans are usually around $30. I haven't found an awesome fit though. Now that I'm done with being pregnant I think I can invest in finding better-fitting jeans. With a proper belt, too. I'd spend up to $100 I think. Maybe more if it was really awesome. I like to wear jeans, though, and since I don't work in an office I don't have to budget for office clothes!

Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!

Jeans- I usually spend $25 on jeans, although I do own a pair of $120 Lucky's
Shoes- I am a big advocate of quality shoes. I usually spend $100 on shoes that I'll wear every day (Eccos). I'll spend $100 on a super cute pair of high heals. I don't usually spend more than $20 on shoes that are casual, once in a while shoes.
Purses- $30 once every few years. I use it til its dead.

Shoes - I do spend on shoes that are good for my feet that I know I will wear a lot like my birks, danskos and running shoes. I usually buy cheap heels since I don't wear them that often.

Jeans - I usually only spend $20-$30 at the most but that is mostly because I'm still post pregnancy right now. I do own a pair of Lucky's which I bought on sale and someday when I'm in my best post baby shape I will spend whatever it takes to have a couple of pairs of GOOD fitting jeans.

Purses - well right now my purse is a diaper bag which I'm willing to spend a little more on because I use it daily and it needs to stand up to damage. I usually buy my purses at Target or JCPenny though I do have one Coach purse and would like to have another one some day.

Okay, where are you people getting jeans for $15-$30? My fav jeans right now are from Loft and I spent around $50 but I would spend upwards of $200 if I found a pair I loved. My MBTs cost $235 but they have been the best investment for my feet I could have ever made. I would expect to spend at least that for a good pair of boots. Purses I don't spend too much on because usually I have a diaper bag, lol. That said I still have some Dooney and Bourke purses my mom got me when I was in college. They were around $180-$300 but I am still using them after 20 years so I think they were a good investment.

              1. Jeans - I should spend more because they never look that good on me - $40- $50

              2. Shoes - I am not a huge shoe person...I buy them because they look really cute at the store and wear the same 2-3 pairs all year - $40 - $100

              3. Handbag/Purse - I LOVE PURSES!!!! $150 - $250 I really love purses but can't do the $500 purses...yet

I spend $50-$100 on jeans. I always have to add another $20 to that, because I get them hemmed. Even the petite ones are too long for me!

For shoes, I usually stay under $100. It seems you only need comfy flats, sandals, and tennis shoes when you're a mom in California! When I was living in Chicago, I'd spend quite a bit more on shoes. I was walking a whole lot more, and with the crazy weather there, I'd go through lots of shoes.

For purses and wallets, the sky's the limit. Or at least, once I lose the diaper bag... Pfft, diaper bag.

One thing about diaper bags is that they give you good reason to splurge on a nice wallet...just throwing that out there for your next shopping trip

Jeans - around $50 usually, and I probably wouldn't spend more than $75.

Shoes - all over the map. Lots of <$20 from Payless mixed with some $80-$100 that actually fit well. I'd pay up to $150 if they were amazing (but rarely).

Purses - my current Fossil bag (from MIL) was probably around $60, but I usually get them at Target for <$20. I like to swap them all the time.

                              How much would you spend?

Jeans: I would maybe spend $100 if they made me look awesome, but since I don't believe in magic, I doubt they exist. I don't think I have ever spent more than $50 on jeans.

Shoes: I would probably spend up to $150 on shoes that I would wear while teaching....I am on my feet most of the day and need to be able to move fast. Comfortable shoes that look halfway decent (ie not tennis shoes/not old lady shoes) are a must.

Purse: I have never bought a purse anywhere but Penneys or Kohls. I don't really "get" purses. I can't see spending more than $75 on one.

                                How much would you spend?

For jeans I usually spend around $60 & wear them to the death. I get disapointed when they wear out in a year. I like to get multiple years out of my stuff.

For shoes I spend between $60 & $120. I buy two pairs a year, usually a sneaker & sandle, however my sneakers haven't been lasting more than seven months lately so I'm trying to spend less.

                                I don't use a purse. I carry cloth bags I make.

I wish I could spend less.
