We've also scored big in the outlets. Did some googling's and Legends Shopping Mall has outlets (including BB). For those who live near Off Fifth, they're currently running a promo of buy one suit, get one free.

In terms of fit, in my experience it's better to stick to American or British labels for bulkier fit and European ones for slimmer build. DH doesn't have much of a waist, so Burberry fits him best. A month ago we scored him a fab Burberry tux at Barney's Warehouse sale (Aug & Feb for those living near NYC).

My problem is that DH has 52" bodybuilder's shoulders and a 32" waist. American styles accommodate his wide, muscular shoulders but billow around his waist. Euro styles fit his height and waist, but don't come anywhere near fitting his shoulders, arms, or neck.

when I used to row, I had my shirts taken in by a tailor to avoid that problem - as far as I know there's no reasonably priced option for off-the-rack shirts that fit broad shoulders/narrow waist.

Diggity, same issue here. And we've been taking shirts to a taylor just like reciprocity suggested. I just wait for a good sale because the alterations can get expensive.
