Advice on TV Purchase

Ok DH is home now so I can give you real information - ours is a Panasonic 600Hz Plasma, 50" and we've had it for probably 2 1/2 years and we really like it. We got a bundle with a Blue-Ray player from Best Buy and got a good deal. DH always does his homework before he buys big electronics.Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

We went with a 42" LG LCD-Plasma (1080p 120Hz) from Amazon. Uber uber affordable, as compared with all the other "bargains" we encountered. Hooray for awesome prices!Wife to Family Medicine attending, Mom to DS1 and DS2

Our LG seems to be serving us well!

I have a question-- do the warranties on these tvs follow them on a move? We are moving this summer, and I don't want to show the house for sale with our old huge cathode ray tv and entertainment center. It looks very ugly. But if we get a new flat screen, I'm not sure it would survive the move very well. Have any of you moved one of these tvs with success? Or is it ok to have the eyesore tv and truly ugly 12 year old entertainment center dominating our living room???Peggy

We have our box and packaging material. I am so so so anti-save any "recyclables" since we moved, but I think DH had a good point, so we kept it.
Good to know that the consensus is in favor of this.

Also, we were confused for a good week about the picture quality ("Why isn't it good?!") until we realized that we didn't have the right cables hooked up to our FIOS.

I am afraid of all the cables lol. But I really want to get rid of our entertainment center. We bought it from sears when we were just married. We've moved it from a top floor apartment to a ranch style house then across the country to this house. It has little pieces broken off here and there lol. And it's all childishness in random places (sine latches fit some don't). It's not moving with us!!!! Dh still says - we can't get rid of that! It still works... Lol. He can move it againif he wants to jeep it then! Maybe we should just go tv-less instead...Peggy
