  • Another gala

So we are going to another black tie optional event this weekend - this one is a cause that is near and dear to our best friends in town's hearts so we're going with them - yay! Not another stuffy doctor dinner.

Anyway, I was planning on wearing the blue dress that I wore to the ball in December because this is a different crowd. Well I just found out today that we (DH & I) have been in "the" society magazine in photos of our last two events and that the same magazine will be covering Saturday's event. Blech!

So my question is do I wear the blue dress again because its beautiful and I love it and it is less likely that we'll be photographed at this event or do I wear the one back-up dress I have in my closet?? It is a black, floor length halter style dress with a pepulum waist with a very thin/sparkly belt that I wore to my sister's wedding in 2004. Very similar to this except in black and it has a pepulum waist instead of the gathering to one side.

No dress advice but I have to say how jealous I am. This was THE ONE thing I was most looking forward to post training...black tie events. Poo!

    Sorry. Carry on!

I'd go with the black dress.

I would seriously not care less about the magazine, and about who has or hasn't seen the pics. Wear the blue dress and have fun!

I'm a total snob so I would go with the black dress. I hate being photographed in the same outfit. Yes, I'm that girl.

I am the exact and complete opposite. Must be the PNW in me and the fact that I just don't give a shit about what others think of what I'm wearing.

Hehe...although for me, it's more about the fact that I don't want to see myself in the same outfit...I love clothes too much! Thank goodness for RTR, otherwise I'd be broke.

I vote you wear whichever dress you feel most confident in.

If someone is really comparing society page pictures and judging you I wouldn't even know what to say to them. Wear whatever you want.

Well the black halter isn't going to work - I just tried it on and it fits but the straps buckle funny, I guess that is what happens when you haven't worn something in 8 years! Hah!

But I found this one in my closet, its a deeper red then the picture and I'll have to wear my spanx because I still have my pregnancy gut (diastasis recti) but what do you think?? It is a sweetheart gala but is it to much?

The hair is fine - nothing spectacular, but fine. I'll post a pic from Saturday night.

And you guys are not helping! This dress is like 8-11 years old - ack!
