Figleaves? The UK company, that is. I remember hitting up their website a year or so back.

I seem to remember that it was critical to figure out what kind of boobs you have and what type of support you need. I need a full cup design with side support because I've got a lot of top/side boob, less underboob. It's so much more complicated when you get it right. LOL

It wasn't figleaves. When she was explaining it, that's what I thought of, but she said this was even better!
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

LSW, I'll have to start cruising the undergarments section at my local TJMAXX.

M, thank you for your input! I though they had lost their minds, but it fits. Cup size, band size, everything. Maybe I really am a 34 DDD

If you went from 38D to 34DDD, your overall bust shrunk, and the proportion of your bust coming from the padding around your chest wall shrunk, so the proportion coming from your actual boobs increased. It's like a man who loses weight and gains inches in his willy. Winning!

Um, I do. I shop during their clearance sales - the ones where you dig through the bins. The $50 bras are reduced to about $15-20 then. I try on about 50 of them and then buy every color I can find in the style that fits best. I haven't had trouble with them coming apart either. I'm a smallish person but I'm busty/bigger than a B cup.

As for fit, the important thing is that the band fits well. It should be even below your breasts and shoulder blades without riding up or digging in anywhere. It should stay up without the straps. The straps should lay flat and not dig into your shoulders or slip off. The bridge (the portion between the breasts) should lie flat against your breastbone and the cups should not gap, wrinkle, or overflow.

I got fitted at a specialty bra fitter after K1 was born. The fitter insisted my band size was one smaller and cupsize was one larger than I'd been wearing. Most uncomfortable bra I ever bought. I seriously could not breathe. So, regardless of what the fitter says, try on a lot of different sizes and styles. The shape of your breasts may affect the fit as well as your measurements. For instance, a demi cup may be more comfortable than a full cup and your cup size may change depending on the style.

I recently read rave reviews of this site: https://trueandco.com/ They have a questionaire that you fill out based on the fit of your favorite bra, telling them what works about it and what doesn't. Then they pre-select various styles and sizes in the different brands based on your preferences and send you a bunch to try on. The bras are a little pricey but I've heard that they are really nice. And you cannot beat shopping at home vs. taking an infant to a shop.

MrsK, I love True&co! They have good deals for their members and email you with free offers sometimes, like a pair of underwear with a purchase, etc.

I go to Nordstrom, but I'm currently a 36F, so not many options other than there or a specialty store. I get refitted every time I shop and try on a min of 10 bras. If I'm rebuying the same brand and size as my previous bra, I still try it on. A good bra saleswoman is worth finding and keeping her card.
